The Easy Way To
GROW YOUR OWN FOOD FOREST
Done-with-you, at your place, with expert local support.
What is a Food Forest?
As opposed to growing food in a garden bed (which requires tons of input every year), we strategically plant food-producing trees & plants, to emulate the layers of a forest system.
This way, nature does most of the hard work for us, and we end up with a biodiverse food forest system that produces more & more food, year after year.

This way, nature does most of the hard work for us, and we end up with a biodiverse food forest system that produces more & more food, year after year.
We've done all the research and hard work, so that you can just skip the hard part and get a food forest as quickly & easily as possible
You'll get some wild & crazy exotic fruits & foods, as well as the usual kiwi favourites that everyone knows & loves.
We'll also focus on making your food forest as aesthetically pleasing as possible too, with flowers and other interesting and beneficial plants to help balance your landscape.
We'll set it all up for you - and check in monthly until your food forest is flourishing and you have a deep understanding of your system
First, check that you are within our current available locations – then book a free site visit with us, here.
While our setups can be quite bespoke, we’d recommend allowing for a 12 x 5 metre space (60m2). This will allow for a substantial food forest with three rows, and a walking path between each. Additional rows can be added, if needed.
When you’re ready, you can sign up with us. The cost for us to build you a full blown syntropic Food Forest is $1000, and then $200 per month on an ongoing basis until you feel you can take over all by yourself.
There’s quite a lot of work involved with getting things set up, initially. While we are happy to do the full setup for you – you’d benefit most from getting involved and helping out with the setup.
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll design your system together, then organise a day to come in and do your installation. This will take a full day for 2 of our team.
Here, we’ll prepare the area, clear all the grass, layer your soil, and spread around 6m3 of mulch (all included in your setup cost) – then plant your support rows and some initial fruit/food trees in your tree lines.
Our first year will be mainly focussed on getting the ‘scaffolding’ all set up (support species, future canopy layer, banana trees etc).
From year 2 onwards, your Food Forest will start to be more productive and give off more of a ‘jungle’ vibe.
We also have a WhatsApp & Facebook group where all our Food Foresters can collab and discuss ideas.
We’ll come back to catch up once every 4-6 weeks, to catch up & see how your food forest is progressing.
When we check in, we’ll check in on your soil, plant health and bring in more trees/plants/mulch as & when needed. We’ll also take care of any required pruning and grass/weed management.
A huge part of our purpose is to teach you the principles of permaculture, so that eventually you can take over yourself, without needing our help.
You’ll receive lessons and guidance and any handy hints/tips that will benefit you and your family, in the long term.
As your system matures, the requirement for human input will decrease.
All subscribers also receive a hungry bin worm farm, so you can learn how to compost/recycle your food scraps to feed your food forest!
All of our subscriptions include a fully managed worm farm/compost bin.
Homemade bio-recycling is an essential part of consistently growing your own food.
